resolved — FEC Campaign Finance Reporting Violation — ADR 746
Bill Cassidy for US Senate, with Ralph J. Stephens as treasurer, failed to report approximately $162,160 in campaign disbursements in the August 2014 FEC filing. The omission occurred because the disbursement arrived via wire transfer and was overlooked during report preparation. A subsequent reconciliation identified the error and an amended report was filed in October 2014. The FEC's Reports Analysis Division referred the matter to the ADR program in January 2015. The committee agreed to a $4,000 civil penalty, FEC seminar attendance, and development of a compliance manual. The Commission approved the settlement unanimously on May 7, 2015.
