dismissed — Winslow v. Fleischmann — Civil Defamation and Tort Lawsuit (Dismissed in Fleischmann's Favor)
Mark Winslow, former Chief of Staff of the Tennessee Republican Party, sued Fleischmann and his 2010 campaign advertising consultant John Saltsman for defamation, false light, inducement to breach contract, and tortious interference, arising from attack ads and public statements made during Fleischmann's 2010 congressional primary campaign against Robin Smith. Winslow was added as defendant against Fleischmann in November 2011. The Davidson County Circuit Court granted Fleischmann summary judgment in February 2014, finding no actual malice and that statements were true or substantially true. The Tennessee Court of Appeals unanimously affirmed on October 21, 2015 (Case No. M2014-00574-COA-R3-CV).
