dismissed — FEC MUR 8241: Campaign Text Message Disclaimer Complaint
A complaint filed with the FEC on April 15, 2024 alleged that William Timmons for Congress and its treasurer Lisa Lisker sent political text messages without required disclaimers, in violation of 52 U.S.C. § 30120(a),(c) and 11 C.F.R. § 110.11. The FEC voted on January 8, 2025 to dismiss the allegations against Timmons and his campaign committee, exercising prosecutorial discretion, and closed the file effective February 7, 2025. No civil penalty was assessed.
